The secret to happiness is a simplified life
This is basically saying, simple things is something that makes people the happiest, and simple lifes, are achieved BY going through a complex life. What I mean by this is that, if you want to get a simple life you must first go through the complex part of your life. After all of the complex parts of life are gone, you can be happy, and live your simple life. This DID happen in the book The Alchemist. Asking how? Let me explain. Santiago wanted to get to his treasure. He went on that very long journey, (complex life) to get to his treasure. After he gets the treasure, he goes off to find a simple life, as he said "I'm coming, Fatima," (Coelho 171). That shows him, after finding his treasure, going off to a simple life with Fatima. Normally after a complex life, comes a simple life. A simple life CAN be bad or good. Doesn't always have to be good. A bad life can be considered "simple" because it can be short making there no room to even be a complex life. A complex life is way worse (normally) than a simplified life. Simplified is easier to deal with, and have, this is what makes that a secret to happiness. Simple lifes are easier to deal with, that is what makes it a key to happiness. This more than likely is the last theme that you are viewing. Overall there are a lot of themes, big ones small ones all kinds of diffrenet types of themes.
